Unsung Hero Award

An Unsung Hero is someone who donates their time and/or talents to a cause without the expectation of recognition or reward. The Adventure Café’s Unsung Hero Award is our chance to shine a light on those who make meaningful contributions to causes in the Mother Lode. Please click here and fill out our nomination form.

A rule of thumb – we will be looking for volunteers who tend to do their work behind the scenes rather than those who are in positions of leadership. Thank you for contributing!

May’s Unsung Hero Jeanette Lambert is being recognized because a number of years ago, she and her late husband Dale established a safe center for those with decreased social skills, brain damage, and homelessness among other things. Jeanette still volunteers at the center at age 92 , and is adored both by volunteers and those who use the facility.

Jeanette is the true description of what an Unsung Hero is.

Jeanette wins a gift certificate to use at the Adventure Café for being our June 2024 Unsung Hero—sponsored by the Adventure Café and Les Schwab Tire Centers of Sonora Nominate someone in your life who is an Unsung Hero for our July award.
