Bethany is an administrator for the U.S. Forest Service who works closely with the firefighters as well as others in different districts in Stanislaus.
She was one of a handful of federal employees who was fired this past spring. She loves her job so much, she accepted her job back after being gone for five weeks. Many people rely on her expertise at the Groveland Ranger District working with new hires, seasonals and even the full-time employees.
She goes from being in her administration position to being a therapist by lending her ear quite frequently, to taking care of the barracks on the compound, organizing, ordering necessities, helping with communications on the district, and sometimes filling in to help other positions. Her job is very stressful, but she loves it and continues to go above and beyond to make sure others are taken care of.
