Tonya has been the Tuolumne County Airports manager for 2 years. In that short time she has made substantial improvements in both the airports’ infrastructure and safety, and facilitated federal grants for Columbia Airport.
She is often seen at the airport office late in the evening and on weekends. On some of those evenings, Tonya can be found with her local Aviation Explorers where, as Post Advisor and founder, she has inspired and furthered the education and careers of numerous youth who participate in the program.
Adding to the depth of her knowledge and skill as a leader and manager, Tonya recently earned her pilot license at Columbia Airport. In her “spare” time, Tonya is a professional geologist. She operates a geology consulting business and recently landed a contract with a California school district to help insure the health and safety of the students and staff in the district.
When not working (which is rare), Tonya may be found hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, flying RC airplanes, or enjoying one of her many coveted outdoor activities.
